About ANZMAC 2006 Conference

During the past several years, we have seen an acceleration of discussion about the relevance of marketing theory to marketing practice.  This issue is regularly debated and discussed in our professional and academic literature, in seminars and workshops, and in boardroom meetings.  ANZMAC 2006 presses on with this discussion, providing papers, special topics, keynote speakers, and breakfast roundtables that explore marketing's development and relevance.  The overall aim of ANZMAC 2006 is to provoke thinking and ideas on how this important issue can be addressed within marketing education and research that focuses on advancing theory while maintaining relevance.

Doctoral Colloquium

An important part of the ANZMAC is the annual Doctoral Colloquium. Again in 2006, the Doctoral Colloquium will be run in conjunction with the ANZMAC Conference. The Colloquium offers an invaluable forum for doctoral students to discuss their dissertation research with other doctoral students and leading marketing academics. This opportunity provides a collaborative, open and friendly atmosphere that stimulates a learning culture built on collegiality. Students are exposed to a range of research issues, questions and methodologies, providing feedback to guide their research efforts and dissertation work. ANZMAC 2006 is offering Poster Sessions as a way for participants at the Colloquium to extend their dissertation work into the main conference arena, providing and excellent opportunity for doctoral students to showcase their work and present these research ideas to broad range of marketing academics.

EMAC-ANZMAC Research Symposium

ANZMAC 2006 will also host the 2006 joint EMAC-ANZMAC Research Symposium alongside the last day of the main conference. The one-day EMAC-ANZMAC Research Symposium will strengthen research networking and interaction between members of EMAC (European Marketing Academy) and ANZMAC (Australia and New Zealand Marketing Academy), stimulating an exchange of ideas on emerging, new and innovative research and findings of relevance to marketing academics and practitioners.
