Accommodation for students attending the Doctoral Colloquium on 2-3 December 2006 has been arranged at The Women's College, at the University of Queensland (UQ). The Women’s College is conveniently located only seven kilometres from the Brisbane city centre at UQ's St Lucia Campus. It has easy access to transport facilities, including the CityCat ferry to the city, QUT and Southbank.
Staff who are presenting at or assessing the Doctoral Colloquium are encouraged to stay at the same venue secured for doctoral students. These arrangements have proved successful in cultivating an intrinsic learning culture throughout the Colloquium and enabling students to network with knowledgeable and experienced academics. For greater convenience, you may choose to move over to one of the centrally located hotels in the CBD on the Sunday night for the main Conference period.
The Women's College offers attractive and comfortable study bedrooms, including a bed, desk, study chair, bookshelves and ample storage and drawer space. Each room also has a telephone linked to the College Network, which provides access to the University and the Internet. Rooms are serviced weekly with bed linen (excluding pillowcases) provided and laundered weekly.
Accommodation for participants at the Doctoral Colloquium is during the university vacation period and is available for both genders. The College has two types of single rooms with shared facilities (coordinated between members of the same gender). Accommodation is in corridor groups of 15 rooms each, with a shared bathroom and common room facilities. A limited number of study bedrooms with an ensuite bathroom between the two rooms is available.
The following competitive daily rates include a hot breakfast served in the Women's College dining room:

Shared bathroom between 15 rooms $65.00 per night
