The ANZMAC 2006 Conference Committee is bringing together an exciting lineup of distinguished academics and practitioners as speakers and discussants at various sessions throughout the Conference. We are looking forward to hosting and introducing inspiring keynote speakers, who will offer a compelling vision of marketing concepts, research and practice with a specific focus on the conference theme Advancing Theory, Maintaining Practice.

Among our prominent guests will be renowned researcher and marketing academic, Professor Michael Rothschild. We are delighted that Professor Rothschild has agreed to participate at the Conference as keynote speaker and will also give a presentation at the Doctoral Colloquium. Dr. Rothschild is Emeritus Professor at the School of Business, University of Wisconsin, whose specialty lies in the area of social marketing issues, and provides a perfect fit for the theme of the conference in the way he translates his theory into practice.

Panel Discussion

Jean-Charles ChebatProfessor Jean-Charles Chebat will also play a key role at ANZMAC 2006, participating in the panel discussion at the Tuesday morning plenary and as the plenary speaker at the last session of the Doctoral Colloquium. Dr Chebat is a highly distinguished scholar. His meritorious work has been commended with countless awards and distinctions, including 2006 Distinguished Fellow of the Academy of Marketing Science, 2005 Sir John William Dawson Medal of the Royal Society of Canada, “for important and sustained contributions by one individual in at least two different domains”, 2004 Knight of the National Order of Quebec and two times Pierre-Laurin-Award for the Best Researcher of the Year at HEC (1997 and 2003). With research interests encompassing a wide range of marketing specialisations and psychology in a diversity of fields, Dr Chebat will bring both depth and breadth to the dialogue and debate.

We are very fortunate to attract speakers of this calibre at ANZMAC 2006, offering a tremendous opportunity for marketing academics and doctoral students alike to meet Professors Rothschild and Chebat, and listen to their insights on real world issues and how we, as academics, can make a difference to practice.

Peter Rubinstein Peter Rubinstein is the director of RADD Australia (Recording artists, actors and athletes against drink driving) and CEO of Radiowise Media Networks. Radiowise Media Networks is both a producer and syndicator of radio programs for, mainly, the commercial radio industry in Australia, and is also Australia’s only PR Company that specialises in radio. Since 1991, the majority of Radiowise’s work has been for the Commonwealth Government in the area of social change, behavioural change, public awareness, and public education. Peter’s role as director of RADD is to use the star power of more than 450 celebrities to reach young people with anti-drink driving messages, as well as offering a variety of practical alternatives to drink-driving by planning ahead.  Almost three years of continuous media exposure has helped to establish a “brand” that has gained significant traction with the target group – as shown in two independent studies by Quantum Market Research.  Rubinstein is also a classically trained musician, and has played piano for over 50 years.
