Getting to and from the Airport

Various forms of public transport are readily available from Brisbane International and Domestic Airports.

  • Brisbane's Airtrain offers a quick and reliable way to get from the airport to the Central Business District (CBD). The station is located directly outside the terminal and trains depart every 15 minutes during peak times. Able to avoid traffic congestion, the Airtrain takes only 20 minutes to Central Station, your best stop for hotels in the city. One-way fares cost AUD$11.00 (incl. GST), providing a fast, cost-effective option for one or two people.
  • Airport Shuttle - Skytrans/Sunbus (Coachtrans) offers transport from the airport to your Brisbane accommodation, taking from 30 minutes to an hour. Operating 7 days a week, the shuttle offers a more convenient option for one or two people, dropping you at your hotel at the cost of around AUD$11.00 per person.
  • Taxis will cost around AUD$30.00 from the airport to the city, and probably the most convenient solution for two or more travellers.

Getting around Brisbane

CityCatGetting around Brisbane is easy - the city is serviced by a variety of public and private transport options including train, bus, ferry, taxi, and bicycle. Brisbane also now offers an integrated transport system so you can travel on any form of public transport using just one ticket.

  • CityCats are twin-hulled catamarans that offer a relaxing way to travel up- or down-stream, or purchase a Day Rover ticket, for around AUD$9.00 giving you unlimited travel around the city all day on Brisbane Transport buses, ferries and CityCats.
  • Brisbane also offers a free bus loop service, commuting between the city and Gardens Point, if you need to rest your feet or escape the heat. The free loop bus circles Brisbane's central business district and provides access to central station, Queen St Mall, Botanic Gardens, Riverside Centre and King George Square.
